About the Role
We are looking for a data-driven
Product Marketing Manager (Retention & PLG)
to own the user journey from the moment of signup to long-term advocacy. Your mission is to bridge the gap between
"signed up" and "power user"
by building high-impact lifecycle systems. You will sit at the intersection of
Product, Growth, and Marketing, using data to identify friction points and deploying automated nudges, emails, and in-product experiences that drive activation, retention, and expansion.
This is a highly analytical role perfect for someone who loves decoding user behavior to build
"fail-proof"
growth loops.
About the Role
We are looking for a
data-driven Product Marketing Manager (Retention & PLG)
to own the
user journey from signup to long-term advocacy.
Your mission is to
bridge the gap between “signed up” and “power user”
by building high-impact lifecycle systems that improve
activation, engagement, retention, and expansion revenue.
You will sit at the
intersection of Product, Growth, and Marketing
, using product analytics and behavioral insights to identify friction points and deploy
automated lifecycle journeys, contextual messaging, and in-product experiences
that help users unlock the product’s value quickly.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys
decoding user behavior, building growth loops, and turning product engagement into revenue expansion.
What You’ll Own
1. Lifecycle & Retention Strategy
Design and execute
end-to-end lifecycle journeys:
Signup → Activation → Engagement → Expansion → Paid
Build and optimize
automated onboarding flows
that help users reach the product’s core value faster
Create systems for
feature discovery, usage nudges, and dormant user reactivation
Design expansion journeys that convert
engaged users into power users and paying customers
Develop retention frameworks that improve
user stickiness and long-term product engagement
2. Product Analytics & User Insights
Analyze user behavior using tools like
PostHog, Metabase, Mixpanel, or GA4
Identify
drop-off points, activation barriers, and engagement gaps
Define and track
Product Qualified Lead (PQL) signals
Identify the product’s
“Aha!” moment
and optimize onboarding flows to help users reach it faster
Act as the
Voice of the User
, feeding insights back to Product and Engineering teams
3. Multi-Channel Messaging & Lifecycle Automation
Own lifecycle messaging across
email, in-app nudges, product notifications, and feature announcements
Build automated lifecycle journeys using tools such as
Loops, Customer.io, or similar platforms
Craft
high-converting, educational messaging
that simplifies complex product value
Trigger contextual messages based on
user behavior, feature usage, and product events
Continuously optimize lifecycle campaigns to improve engagement and activation
4. In-Product Growth & Monetization
Partner closely with Product teams to design
in-product growth mechanisms
Experiment with
usage-based nudges, milestone celebrations, and paywalls
Run experiments to improve
Signup → Activated User conversion
Build product-led upsell opportunities through
feature usage and engagement signals
Identify opportunities to increase
expansion revenue from existing users
What We’re Looking For
4–6 years of experience
in Product Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, or Growth roles
Strong experience working in
SaaS or PLG-driven products
Deep understanding of
product analytics and user behavior analysis
Experience with analytics tools such as
Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, or GA4
Familiarity with lifecycle automation platforms like
Customer.io, Braze, Loops, or similar tools
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn
data into actionable growth experiments
Exceptional
product messaging and writing skills
Ability to simplify
complex technical features into clear user value
Experience collaborating with
Product, Engineering, and Growth teams
Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate in
fast-paced startup environments
