Role Overview
Looking for a Category Manager for Raw Materials to lead sourcing and supplier management for
our Nutraceuticals and Personal Care portfolio. This role will drive strategic sourcing, cost
optimization, supplier development, and technical evaluation of raw materials.
The ideal candidate combines strong procurement experience with a chemistry background,
enabling them to work closely with R AND D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to evaluate alternative
raw materials, improve cost structures, and strengthen the supply base.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
: Develop sourcing strategies for key raw materials aligned with business and
cost objectives. Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to build a competitive and resilient
supply base. Lead commercial negotiations and secure favourable pricing, payment terms, and
contracts.
Supplier AND Category Management
: Build strong supplier partnerships to ensure quality, cost
efficiency, and supply reliability. Track supplier performance through defined KPIs and drive
improvement initiatives. Manage category spend and drive supplier consolidation where beneficial.
Technical & Product Support : Evaluate raw materials based on chemical composition, quality
standards, and regulatory requirements. Work closely with R AND D to identify and validate alternate
raw materials without compromising product performance. Support product development initiatives
by leveraging supplier capabilities and technical insights.
Cost Optimization:
Track market and commodity trends to identify cost-saving opportunities. Lead
initiatives for cost reduction through alternate sourcing, formulation changes, and vendor
negotiations. Deliver measurable savings while maintaining quality and compliance.
Cross Functional Collaboration Partner with R AND D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing
teams to ensure materials meet specifications and compliance standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT, formerly UDCT).
6 to 8 years of experience in raw material sourcing, technical sales, or category management within Nutraceuticals or Personal Care industries. Preferred
Exposure to global sourcing and international supply chains
Understanding of regulatory requirements in nutraceuticals and personal care
Certifications in Supply Chain or Procurement
