The Control Systems Engineer provides technical support for process control systems in complex processing facilities, with a primary focus on alarm management and alarm system performance improvement. The Process Engineer is part of the Discipline Engineering organization within Chevron’s ENGINE   Center   and   is responsible for   providing process engineering support to topsides/onshore oil and gas facilities .    This role will support the design of systems from early concept through detailed engineering, perform troubleshooting and optimizations for Operations, evaluates   new technologies , and helps developing and implementing digital tools for process engineering and water management.   Responsibilities    Provide   timely   technical service consultation to onshore and offshore oil and gas topsides/onshore facilities and capital project teams supporting new asset development and/or operational issues in existing projects and assets.   Review and improve designs for operability, reliability, and ease of maintenance   Support early phase project design execution by developing process documents such as heat and material balances and process datasheets   Develop and   maintain   detailed process simulation models to evaluate design and operating scenarios ( Hysys ,   ProII , etc.)   Support day-to-day operations by providing engineering analysis and process troubleshooting of equipment items   utilizing   data analytics and process monitoring tools (PI,   Seeq , etc.)   Participate in on-the-job training/development opportunities through mentoring with Houston’s technical   center   counterparts     Required Qualifications    Experience with upstream technologies: gas dehydration, vapor recovery, natural gas sweetening, Offshore Topsides/Onshore Facilities gas/oil/water separation, solid removal, and produced water treatment.   Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B. Tech) in chemical engineering or related field from a recognized (AICTE) university   Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with Chevron’s global employee workforce     Preferred Qualifications    5-10+ years of process engineering experience in upstream onshore and offshore process facilities.   Possibly through   operation support engineering assignments or process design work for capital projects.   Experience in performing analytical calculations such as mass transfer, fluid flow, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, process control,   kinetics   and equipment sizing.   Experience in working with process monitoring tools and process   modeling   software, such as PI,   Seeq ,   Hysys , PROII, etc.    Awareness of Process Safety Management concepts and principles such as Process Hazards Analysis, Alarm Objective Analysis, Integrity Operating Windows, etc.     Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
