About this role

Job Description Job Description Office Location: Bangalore Team: Product Design (Travel Squad) Why This Role Matters At AirAsia MOVE, our goal is to become the most customer-centric travel platform in Asia. The heart of that goal lives within our booking experience. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Principal Product Designer to own the evolution of our core travel flows, specifically for flights and hotels. As a high-level individual contributor, you won't just be "designing screens", you will be focusing on the UX architecture, systems logic, user flows, and sophisticated motion that turn a complex booking process into an easy and elegant journey. You will be the standard-bearer for design craft quality, ensuring that every transition and touchpoint reinforces trust and drives conversion for tens of millions of users. What You Will Do Master the Flow: Lead the end-to-end design of complex booking journeys, utilizing advanced user flow mapping to eliminate friction and optimize conversion rates for our flight and hotel products. Elevate the Craft: Push the boundaries of our product experience by integrating high-fidelity motion design and contributing to the evolution of our mature design system. Lead by Example: While an individual contributor role, you will mentor and grow junior designers by demonstrating what great quality (of design craft) looks like in practice, communication, and strategic thinking. Data-Informed Iteration: Partner with Product and Data teams to translate behavioral metrics and A/B testing results into design improvements that move the needle on key business outcomes. Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility while maintaining an intuitive, consistent experience across all platforms (web and mobile app). What Success Looks Like Conversion Excellence: Your optimizations lead to measurable improvements in booking completion rates and reduced drop-off in the travel funnel. Design Authority: You establish a clear "north star" for UX and interaction standards that other colleagues look to for inspiration. Team Elevation: Junior and mid-weight designers show visible growth in their craft and attention to detail through your informal mentorship and peer reviews. Seamless Delivery: Complex projects are delivered with high clarity, from initial journey mapping to final, motion-enriched handoffs. What You Bring 5+ years of experience in product design, with a deep portfolio focused on complex B2C transactional flows (E-commerce or Travel experience is a significant plus). Expertise in UX & Logic: Mastery of information architecture and user flow design; you can untangle complex requirements into simple, intuitive paths. Technical Artistry: Good skills in motion design and a sophisticated understanding of how to leverage and contribute to large-scale design systems. Exceptional Communication: The ability to articulate the "why" behind design decisions to senior leadership and influence product strategy through persuasive storytelling. A "Lead by Doing" Mentality: You are still a hands-on builder who loves the "pixels" as much as the "big picture". How We Work We believe great products are built when curiosity meets clarity. We move fast, share early, and learn constantly from our users. If you’re driven by uncovering human truth and translating it into seamless digital experiences, this is the place for you. What We Offer We offer a well-connected office environment at KL Sentral, a competitive (above-market) salary, travel perks such as flights allowances, and the opportunity to work directly with the senior management team to drive change and improve a B2C product that serves tens of millions of monthly active users under a strong, trusted brand in an exciting industry.
