The Role This role is for a Principal SDET – Software development Engineer in Test who leads the design, development, and delivery of automation test frameworks for our next generation software platform (computer vision, machine learning, sensor fusion, coaching workflows, reporting, alert management engines, high accuracy vehicle event analysis engines.) The successful candidate will provide technical automation leadership as part of the Software QA Team and is accountable for all aspects of the QA process.This position requires solid experience testing N-Tier application services and data platform within an Agile development environment. Also, understands the database well. What You’ll Do · Define and drive end-to-end Quality Strategy for data platforms and engineering systems · Architect scalable automation frameworks for batch, streaming, API, and UI validation · Establish enterprise-level data quality governance, validation standards, and KPIs · Design automated reconciliation, integrity checks, and observability validation · Lead test strategy for large-scale data migrations and cloud transformation initiatives · Integrate quality gates into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines · Drive performance, reliability, and security validation frameworks · Mentor and provide technical leadership to QA engineers · Collaborate with architects on data mesh/lakehouse validation strategy · Evaluate and introduce AI-driven testing and automation accelerators What You’ll Bring Requirements · Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field · 8–12+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, with strong data/platform focus · 2+ years in technical leadership or quality ownership role · Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL optimization, and pipeline validation · Experience leading quality initiatives in cloud-based ecosystems · Exposure to data governance, compliance, and security validation Technical Skills · Programming: Advanced Python (must have), SQL (expert level) · Data Testing: Snowflake (preferred), Redshift, BigQuery · Big Data Validation: Spark (must have exposure), Kafka streaming validation · Cloud Platforms: AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda), Azure, or GCP · Automation Framework Design (backend + data) · CI/CD & DevOps integration · Performance & Scalability validation · Data orchestration validation (Airflow/dbt/Glue) Leadership & Strategic Skills · Test architecture design · Quality metrics & KPI governance · Mentoring and capability building · Strategic thinking and innovation (AI-assisted testing) · Executive-level stakeholder communication
