About Renesas India (India for India – IFI)
Renesas continues to significantly expand its presence in India, with headcount approaching 1,000 and strong engagement across government, academia, and the broader semiconductor ecosystem. As India emerges as a strategic semiconductor market and a global talent hub, Renesas’ India for India (IFI) initiative is focused on creating differentiated products that address local market needs, while remaining globally competitive.
This role represents a rare opportunity to shape future silicon platforms from India—directly influencing product architecture, execution methodologies, and portfolio direction for a fast‑growing, strategically important market. The individual will play a pivotal role in defining end‑to‑end SoC solutions that serve India’s unique applications across automotive, industrial, infrastructure, and emerging domains.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Portfolio Architecture
Work closely with Business, Product Management, Sales, and Customers to define product portfolio strategy and translate market needs into clear SoC/MCU requirements.
Architect scalable SoC/MCU platforms, including detailed technical specifications and cost–benefit trade‑offs across architecture options, process nodes, IP reuse, and integration strategies.
Define–Own–Deliver SoC implementations that meet product KPIs, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
Ensure end‑to‑end specification compliance across verification, validation, characterization, and production test, with rigorous review of outcomes prior to release.
Drive paradigm shifts in SoC/MCU execution—covering team structures, tools, design methodologies, and processes—to enable high‑quality, first‑pass silicon.
Lead IP selection strategies, including make/buy decisions, third‑party IP evaluation, and long‑term platform reuse.
Collaborate deeply with RTL design, Design Verification, Firmware/Software, Pre‑ and Post‑Silicon Validation, Test, and Program Management teams.
Enable delivery of first‑pass functional silicon on aggressive and aspirational schedules through architectural rigor and execution discipline.
Engage with external stakeholders, including IP vendors, EDA partners, foundries, and OSATs.
Represent Renesas at technical conferences, standards bodies, and ecosystem forums, contributing to thought leadership and technology direction.
Contribute to training program definition and rollout, mentor senior engineers, and drive systematic lessons‑learned and best‑practice sharing across teams and programs.
