The
Principal
Engineer
,
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Data
is responsible for
global
execution
and maintenance
of
Amgen’s
CMM
S. This
role
support
s
initial asset incorporation,
e
nd-to-
e
nd
a
sset
l
ifecycle
m
anagement, and
associated
compliance across Engineering and Facilities operations.
Reporting to the Director, Engineering Systems, Technology & Reporting, this role
supports CMMS deployment and management
,
global reliability,
and CMMS data strategy.
Roles & Responsibilities
Own
s
CMMS
roadmap execution and
improvement
planning
.
Own
s
and
maintain
s
applicable
CMMS
process
governing
and guidance documents.
Serve
s
as CMMS
subject matter expert;
engage
s
applicable site resources
(
e.g.
equipment engineers)
and
provide
s
technical consultation and training when necessary.
Lead
s
system enhancements, upgrades, stabilization
enhancements
, and adoption initiatives
.
Ensure
s
CMMS
solutions support asset reliability, maintenance strategies, and compliance requirements
.
Support
s
standardization of processes
and
data structures
across
the portfolio of CMMS records
.
Support
s
root cause analysis and ensure
s
implementation of CMMS-related preventive and corrective actions
.
Support
s
management of traditional prev
entive maintenance a
s well as
deployment of advanced maintenance
strategies (such as predictive
and proactive maintena
nce).
Partner
s
with Technology, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable
and
secure solutions
.
Manage
s
risks, dependencies, and delivery discipline across
CMMS
initiatives
.
Monitor
s
and improve
s
CMMS effectiveness
and value
(
e.g.
using internal
feedback
and external bench
marking data)
A
dvance
s
application of
Artificial Intelligence
to
CMMS
data
and applications
to improve
effectiveness and efficiency
.
Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or related field
12-17 years of work experience in the
related field
Preferred
/ Good to have
Qualifications
Experience
managing
regulated
asset
s
and asset maintenance data records.
Demonstrated experience improving
asset performance, reliability, and value using data and
collaborating with
equipment engineering subject matter expert
s.
Data-driven mindset with experience using metrics, analytics, or insights to guide decisions and continuous improvement.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills, including the ability to lead outcomes without direct authority.
Experience partnering with Technology, Operations
(
e.g.
Manufacturing
and Engineering)
, Quality, Compliance, and Business stakeholders in regulated environments.
Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical, system, or data-driven topics to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated capability to support change management, user adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong
expertise
in data governance, analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI), and collaboration tools (e.g.,
Teams,
SharePoint)
.
Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to business processes, problems, and decisions.
Demonstrated experience translating client needs into program-controlled business processes.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional, and fast-paced global environment.
Demonstrated experience leading global teams and partnering with enterprise Technology organizations
.
Experience working across regions and time zones with cultural awareness and adaptability.
Proven experience managing multiple priorities, interdependencies, and competing demands while
maintaining
strong execution discipline.
