About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 09 Role: Price Reporter, Residual Fuels The Team: The Pricing Team at S&P Global Energy is responsible for analyzing trade flows and market activity to publish independent and transparent price assessments relied upon by global clients. The team works collaboratively and actively engages with the market through daily commentaries, news stories, and analytical content. The Impact: As a Bunker Market Reporter, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate, timely, and methodology-driven bunker fuel price assessments. The ideal candidate is passionate about market reporting, confident in networking with senior industry participants, and proactive in uncovering market-moving developments. You will ensure that publications provide reliable, detailed, and transparent pricing data to the shipping and energy sectors. What’s in It for You: Develop and maintain strong relationships with a wide base of bunker fuel traders, shipowners, brokers, and suppliers Engage with market participants on pricing trends and methodology development Build cross-commodity knowledge across oil and shipping markets Gain exposure to global energy market dynamics and industry leaders Key Responsibilities: Publish daily bunker fuel price assessments in line with defined methodology Produce daily regional commentaries outlining key market fundamentals and price drivers Build, maintain, and expand a strong network of market contacts to gather real-time intelligence Research, analyze, and objectively assess market value in the oil and bunker markets Monitor emerging trends, transactions, and critical developments in global bunker and crude oil markets What We’re Looking For: Strong curiosity about energy and shipping markets Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities Accountability, integrity, and a collaborative mindset Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Excellent written and spoken English Strong numerical and analytical skills Understanding of commodity or energy markets Preferred Qualifications: Experience in market reporting, price assessment, or industry news writing, preferred.  Background in energy, shipping, or oil market analysis Prior experience in price assessment methodology and market intelligence gathering, preferred. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment Write timely and accurate news stories on developments in the bunker fuel, shipping, and fuel oil markets by engaging with industry participants and monitoring trade flows and operational developments.
