Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable English Teacher to teach students at the preparatory and secondary levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in English language and literature, along with a passion for fostering a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking among students. The English Teacher will be responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment, developing students' language skills, and encouraging an appreciation for literature.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the English language and literature curriculum for preparatory and secondary grades.
Teach key aspects of English, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, and literature analysis.
Introduce students to various genres of literature, helping them to analyze texts, understand themes, and appreciate literary elements.
Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and creative expression through interactive and engaging teaching methods.
Assess and evaluate student progress through tests, essays, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, respect, and curiosity.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate English language learning across interdisciplinary projects and school activities.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, areas for growth, and recommendations for improvement.
Organize or participate in extracurricular activities, such as book clubs, literary events, or writing workshops, to promote interest in English beyond the classroom.
Stay updated with best practices in English language teaching, including the use of technology and new teaching resources.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Proven experience teaching English at the preparatory or secondary level.
Strong knowledge of English grammar, literature, and language instruction techniques.
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Ability to engage students of different ages and skill levels, fostering a love for English language and literature.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching certification or license in English language education.
Familiarity with educational technology and multimedia resources to support English instruction.
Experience with project-based learning, literary analysis, and creative writing.
Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports students’ diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
