stability, security, governance, and long

term sustainability of Microsoft Power Platform
within the organization.
This role is
not a development role

not customer

facing
. It exists to provide
dedicated ownership of platform
‑
level governance and operations
, complementing existing low‑code developers and product teams who focus on building applications and automations.
The specialist operates
behind the scenes
, ensuring the Power Platform runs reliably, securely, and at scale, while reducing risk, preventing platform sprawl, and enabling confident growth—particularly in the context of increased adoption and incoming SMA migrations.
Nature of the Role:
Platform‑focused, non‑customer‑facing role
Not responsible for building Power Apps or Power Automate flows
Acts as a
guardian of the platform
, not a feature developer
Ensures operational readiness, governance consistency, and platform resilience
Provides stability and continuity as platform usage scales
Core Focus Areas:
Power Platform environment strategy and governance
Platform administration and operational readiness
Monitoring, stability, and proactive issue prevention
Managing the impact of Microsoft evergreen updates
Defining, enforcing, and continuously improving standards, guardrails, and best practices
Key Responsibilities:
Governance & Environment Management:
Own and strengthen Power Platform governance across all environments
Define and enforce environment strategy (e.g. Dev/Test/Prod separation)
Manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, connectors, and access controls
Platform Administration & Operations:
Oversee platform configuration, health monitoring, and operational stability
Monitor usage, capacity, performance, and failure patterns
Ensure reliable platform operation at scale
Evergreen & Change Management:
Proactively assess and manage the impact of Microsoft Power Platform updates
Identify potential risks introduced by platform changes and implement mitigations
Ensure continuity and stability as the platform evolves
Security, Compliance & Risk Management:
Support security, compliance, and data protection requirements
Ensure platform usage aligns with organisational and regulatory standards
Protect the organisation from data leakage, misuse, and unsupported patterns
Escalation & Incident Ownership:
Act as the escalation point for platform‑level issues and production incidents
Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of critical governance or operational issues
Ensure root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement
Enablement & Advisory:
Work closely with developers and product teams to advise on governance‑aligned usage
Provide guardrails and guidance without owning application development
Enable teams to innovate safely within defined standards
Process & Knowledge Sustainability:
Establish repeatable processes, documentation, and operating guidelines
Reduce dependency on individual knowledge or informal practices
Create clear, durable governance models that scale with adoption
Experience & Skill Profile:
Senior, hands‑on experience (not entry‑level or purely advisory)
Deep practical experience with Power Platform administration and governance
Strong understanding of Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, environments, DLP, and connectors
Comfortable operating independently and reacting quickly to platform issues
Strong appreciation of how governance decisions impact developers and product teams
Process‑oriented mindset with a strong focus on reliability, resilience, and risk mitigation
