Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Specialist with deep expertise in data modeling to join our analytics team. The ideal candidate will excel in Power BI, demonstrate a strong analytical mindset, and have a solid understanding of data modeling at both the Power BI and data warehouse levels. This role requires an individual capable of handling large datasets, identifying patterns, transforming raw data into insightful, actionable reports and possessing strong debugging skills
Responsibilities
:
- Develop, design, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support data driven decision making.
- Serve as a data modeler, creating efficient and scalable data models in Power BI and at the data warehouse level.
- Analyze and interpret large datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Expertly decide on Power BI connectivity modes (Direct Query, Import, etc.) based on data volume and performance requirements.
- Utilise advanced DAX functions and Power Query to optimize data transformations and calculations.
- Oversee the deployment and management of Power BI Service, including security, data refresh, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design data models that support business objectives.
- Perform SQL-based data extraction and manipulation to support Power BI requirements.
- Debug and resolve issues in Power BI reports, SQL code, and data, ensuring data accuracy, performance optimization, and consistent issue resolution.
- Apply basic knowledge of ETL processes to enhance data transformation and integration.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in Power BI, with a strong background in data modeling for both Power BI and data warehouses.
- In depth understanding of Power BI tool or BI process.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and optimize data models for large datasets and complex reporting needs.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills to identify, analyze, and resolve issues within Power BI reports, SQL code, and data, ensuring data accuracy and performance.
- Proficiency in DAX and Power Query, with advanced knowledge of data modeling concepts.
- Strong SQL skills for querying, troubleshooting, and data manipulation.
- Good understanding of ETL processes.
- In-depth knowledge of Power BI Service, including workspaces, datasets, dataflows, and security configurations.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with integrating Power BI reports into other applications or platforms.
- Knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate for automation.
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data integration.
