Job Purpose:
The Odoo Accountant is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle of the company through the Odoo ERP platform, ensuring accurate financial recording, compliance with Saudi regulatory requirements (ZATCA, VAT, e-invoicing), and timely reporting. The role supports the growing technology portfolio across Customer Experience solutions, system integration projects, and enterprise IT services by maintaining robust financial controls, project-based accounting, and vendor/partner financial management (Genesys, Cisco, and other technology partners).
Key Responsibilities
Project & Contract Accounting:
Manage project-based revenue recognition, cost tracking, and profitability per engagement
Link sales orders, purchase orders, and timesheets to projects in Odoo
Monitor milestone-based billing (e.g., Genesys, Cisco projects)
Track deferred revenue for multi-year contracts
Generate project P&L reports for management
Compliance & Tax Management:
Ensure compliance with Saudi regulations (VAT, ZATCA, Zakat)
Handle VAT filings (monthly/quarterly)
Manage ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing (Fatoora) integration
Calculate withholding tax (WHT) for international vendors
Stay updated on regulatory changes and reflect them in Odoo
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
Build dashboards for revenue performance by business line
Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget)
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Manage vendor invoices and payment cycles (e.g., Genesys, Cisco, Microsoft)
Oversee collections and monitor aging reports
Follow up on overdue receivables
Handle multi-currency transactions (SAR, USD, EUR)
Internal Controls & Audit Support:
Maintain audit documentation and trails
Support external audits
Ensure segregation of duties within Odoo
Improve financial controls and approval workflows
Process Automation & Continuous Improvement:
Automate accounting tasks (recurring invoices, bank feeds, OCR)
Collaborate with IT on Odoo customizations and integrations
Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certifications (SOCPA, CMA, ACCA, or CPA) are highly preferred.
Experience: 3–6 years of hands-on accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years working extensively on Odoo ERP (preferably Odoo 18 or later). Experience in technology, IT services, or system integration companies is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Deep working knowledge of Odoo Accounting, Invoicing, and Purchase modules; proficiency in Odoo configuration, reporting, and basic troubleshooting; strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling); familiarity with ZATCA e-invoicing integration and Saudi VAT framework.
Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of Saudi accounting standards (SOCPA), IFRS, VAT regulations, Zakat requirements, and ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing compliance.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is essential for handling local regulatory documentation and international partner communications.
