# Job Description: Windows Support Engineer (6-9 Years)
**Location: Bangalore and Hyderabad
**Work Schedule:** 24/7 Support (Shift-based) with 5 days’ work from office

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze vendor releases and new security or OS patches following the Operations Guide.
• Evaluate patch impact, deployment speed, sequencing, and communication pathways.
• Deploy patches, hotfixes, and service packs during approved maintenance windows per CAB change requests.
• Monitor and ensure mandatory patch levels meet compliance requirements.
• Review and approve patch deployment strategies aligned with PwC and client policies.
• Provide technology lab environment and support for thorough patch testing and validation.
• Deliver ongoing Windows Server OS support, including remediation of incidents and performance issues.
• Troubleshoot OS-related problems and collaborate with incident and problem management teams to minimize downtime.
• Document OS configurations, patching schedules, and remediation procedures accurately.
• Support virtualization management by creating, testing, upgrading, and monitoring host and guest servers.
• Manage workload distribution and guest balancing to optimize virtualized environments.
• Track license utilization, performance metrics, and other indicators as per SLA and operations requirements.
• Configure and manage backup software and establish backup and recovery schedules.
• Conduct routine backup verification checks and tests to ensure backup integrity.
• Perform backup restores, support archival and retention management, and comply with client policies and regulatory demands.
Preferred:
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, MCSE, or equivalent.
• Experience with backup tools like Veeam, Commvault, or similar.
• Familiarity with CMDB, Configuration Repositories, and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, etc.).
• 5 days working from office with shift flexibility to support 24/7 client environment.
