Who are we:
Raptee Energy is a full- stack electric motorcycle startup with a very strong technical moat, founded in 2019 by four engineers from Chennai (Ex Tesla, Wipro), working on bringing a no-compromise upgrade motorcycle to an otherwise scooter- only EV market. Raptee is incubated at CIIC & ARAI.
Role Overview:
You will own the design, implementation, and validation of real-time motor control firmware for PMSM/IPMSM drives in EV power-train systems. Working across the full stack from control algorithm to hardware bring-up you will collaborate with controls, power electronics, and vehicle integration teams to deliver production-quality embedded software.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and tune FOC algorithms: current regulation, MTPA, field weakening, and regenerative braking.
Implement SVM, PWM generation, and voltage limiting logic in embedded C for ARM Cortex-M targets.
Build and validate motor control models in MATLAB/Simulink; generate and verify production C code.
Integrate ADC-based current sensing, handle phase reconstruction, and calibrate sensor offsets.
Characterize and validate drive behavior across the full operating envelope on bench and motor Dyno.
Collaborate with hardware teams on inverter bring-up, gate driver integration, and fault protection.
Support vehicle-level integration: torque arbitration, state machine design, and diagnostics.
Who Can Apply?
3–5+ years of hands-on motor control firmware experience with PMSM or BLDC drives.
Deep knowledge of FOC: Clarke/Park transforms, synchronous-frame PI control, and SVM.
Strong embedded C skills on ARM Cortex-M; comfortable with interrupt-driven, real-time architectures.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink model-based design and embedded code generation.
Familiarity with ADC current sensing, real-time filtering, and signal conditioning.
Hands-on with oscilloscopes, runtime monitoring tools, and systematic firmware debugging.
B.E. / B.Tech or higher in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Good to Haves:
Experience with IPMSM saliency, reluctance torque exploitation, or MTPV operation.
Prior work on field weakening or regenerative braking in a production or near-production context.
Exposure to ISO 26262, MISRA-C, or automotive software quality processes.
Knowledge of EV power-train architecture, HIL simulation, or AUTOSAR.
