Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale.
Execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
Develop creative approaches and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep operational costs low.
Monitor the network and repair issues while anticipating needs and escalating issues.
Own network documentation, update and maintain network designs and plans.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
Experience with network installation, network configuration, network infrastructure, network operations, optical engineering and operations, IP backbone, and project management.
Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of optical networking, including Fiber optics and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technologies.
Networking knowledge: comfortable in troubleshooting network issues, familiar with main protocols and common types of devices.
Demonstrated excellent program management and vendor management skills.
