Mechanical Engineer – 3 to 8 years of experience, Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop sheet-metal components and assemblies (enclosures, racks, brackets, panels) for BESS products.
Prepare and review 2D drawings and 3D models with proper GD&T.
Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
Perform dimensional inspection using precision instruments such as:
Vernier callipers, micrometres, height gauges
Bore gauges, dial indicators, thread gauges
Surface roughness testers (where applicable)
Interpret and apply tolerances, fits, and measurement standards.
Conduct incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections of mechanical parts and assemblies.
Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
Assist in preparation and review of inspection reports, checklists, and quality documentation.
Work closely with manufacturing, vendors, and suppliers for fabrication and quality issues.
Support vendor audits, first article inspections (FAI), and part approvals.
Provide technical clarification to vendors on drawings and specifications.
Support mechanical integration of battery modules, racks, cabinets, cooling components, and auxiliary systems.
Ensure mechanical designs meet safety, structural, and environmental requirements relevant to BESS applications.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of sheet-metal design and fabrication processes.
Hands-on experience with measurement instruments and inspection techniques.
Good understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and fits.
Experience in quality inspection and documentation.
Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or NX).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and standards
