Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer (Civil) to oversee quality assurance and quality control activities for civil works in Solar EPC projects across Gujarat and nearby regions. The role involves ensuring that all civil construction activities meet project specifications, approved drawings, and industry standards.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspections, documentation, testing coordination, and ensuring compliance with QA/QC procedures to achieve high-quality project execution.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance & Control (Civil)
Implement QA/QC procedures for civil works including land development, excavation, foundations, trenches, cable routing, and equipment foundations.
Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
Conduct inspections at various stages of work and maintain quality benchmarks.
2. Inspection & Testing
Coordinate and perform inspections of civil works such as soil compaction, PCC, RCC, grouting, and structural elements.
Ensure all materials (cement, aggregates, steel, etc.) meet quality standards and are tested as per norms.
Review and verify test reports from laboratories and site testing.
3. Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and maintain quality documents including Inspection Requests (IRs), Work Inspection Reports (WIRs), checklists, and test reports.
Review and ensure adherence to Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements.
Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely closure.
4. Material Quality Control
Inspect incoming materials and verify compliance with specifications and approved makes.
Maintain material approval records and test certificates.
Coordinate with procurement and stores for material quality issues.
5. Site Coordination
Work closely with site engineers, contractors, and supervisors to ensure quality compliance.
Provide technical guidance to site teams on quality requirements and best practices.
Attend site meetings and report quality-related observations.
6. Audit & Monitoring
Support internal and external quality audits.
Monitor site activities to identify deviations and ensure corrective actions.
Maintain quality logs and audit records.
7. Reporting & Records
Maintain daily inspection reports and quality records.
Prepare weekly and monthly QA/QC reports for management review.
Track quality KPIs and highlight areas for improvement.
8. Continuous Improvement
Identify recurring quality issues and suggest improvements.
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Promote best practices and standardization across projects.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
2–6 years of experience in QA/QC for civil works in Solar EPC, infrastructure, or construction projects.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of civil construction practices, QA/QC procedures, and relevant IS standards.
