BASIC FUNCTION
The Manager – Procurement & Supply Chain is responsible for leading and managing the
end-to-end procurement and supply chain function
supporting multiple projects and operations. The role involves strategic sourcing, supply planning, vendor management, logistics coordination, and team leadership to ensure
cost-effective, timely, and compliant delivery of materials and services
.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supply Chain Leadership
Lead project and operational procurement activities across materials, equipment, and services
Ensure procurement compliance with company policies, contracts, and statutory requirements
Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and savings initiatives
Manage end-to-end supply chain operations including demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory control, and logistics
Project Management Interface
Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, and Planning teams to align procurement deliverables with project milestones
Team Management & Leadership
Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team of ~20 members comprising purchase, inventory, logistics, and supplier quality
Define roles, responsibilities, KPIs, and performance goals for the team
Conduct regular performance reviews, skill development, and succession planning
Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Process Excellence & Digitalization
Establish and improve SOPs, workflows, and procurement governance frameworks
Ensure effective usage of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/other) for procurement, inventory, and reporting
Drive automation, digitization, and analytics to improve supply chain efficiency
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Cost savings and procurement effectiveness
On-time delivery performance for projects
Inventory turnover and working capital optimization
Vendor performance scorecards
Team productivity and compliance metrics
Educational Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
15–17 years of experience in Project Management, Procurement operations, sourcing support, or supply chain management.
Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in Project management, procurement and supply chain
Proven experience managing team
In-depth knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP)
Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
Desired Profile
Strategic thinker with strong execution capability
Result-oriented with strong cost and delivery focus
High integrity, compliance-oriented, and process-driven
Ability to manage pressure in a multi-project environment
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
