Currently we are looking for Health & Safety Professional who has experience in Chemical Industry. This role will be based at plant location Sayaka, Bharuch, Gujarat.

Location: Sayakha (Bharuch)
Immediate superior: EHSQ Head
Main Function:
This role leads the EHS function for site Sayakha and coordinate with global team for various site function. Accountable for ensuring Indian and local laws are complied, recognised, understood and communicated to the organisation. Create measuring mechanism for compliance related to EHS and communicate to all at periodic level.

2. Accountable for ensuring Indian and local laws are complied, recognised, understood and communicated to the organisation. Create measuring
mechanism for compliance related to EHS and communicate to all at periodic level.
3. Ensure compliance of all legal permissions for site and personnel of the site Sayakha. Maintain working knowledge of legal obligations under
Indian and local authority Environment, Health and Safety law.
4. Being Management representative, organise and co-ordinate external audits from competent authorities, stakeholder groups and certification
auditors. Identify required internal EHS audit programme, facilitate these and act as an internal auditor.
5. Responsible for estimating, maintaining and monitoring of EHS fixed cost.
6. Prepare master list of EHS risk on site from operational, legal and business-related aspects through various compliance changes, audits, major
accident, PHA and keep track the compliance of the same.
7. Support functional managers to comply with their responsibilities in the key areas of risk control, social responsibility, EHS legal obligations, and
occupational health and safety, by the maintenance of EHS systems and provision of independent advice, training and coaching, monitoring and
assistance.
8. Responsible for competence, performance and effectiveness of associated staff (PMD etc.).
9. Acts as champion for the company’s EHS initiatives, e.g. Care365, LSR, Careway assessment etc.
10. Manage and lead EHS team in the provision and maintenance of EHS systems, training, Consultation, performance monitoring and emergency
management co-ordination of gaps and develop action plan to close the same.
11. Establish and maintain procedures for reporting and investigating EHS deviations (incidents, injuries, risks, etc.)
12. Set up the Site Sayakha EHS Committee and ensure required people are invited, for Incident/Accident RCFA.
13. Develops, maintains all EHS processes - LSR,SWP,LOTOTO, JSA, RA,HAZOP,PSM
14. Prepare and communicate monthly reports on HSE activities and status of compliance of audits locally and globally.
15. Create activity calendar for entire year ensuring proper engagement, consultation and awareness to all level of employees on EHS aspects
through celebration of NSW, WED, Care week etc.
16. Responsible for work with the contractors for implementation of contractor and 3rd party safety management system.
17. Responsible for coordination of PSM related activities with the process safety engineer and ensure all elements are implemented and maintained
through audits, study and inspections.
18. Responsible for the various EHS item technical evaluation, on field demo and procurements like PPE, Emergency equipment, LOTOTO items etc.
19. Responsible for ensuring readiness of emergency equipment in case of emergency like Firefighting and detection system, SCBA, CSE rescue kit
etc. by inspection and audits.
20. Develop inspection and audit mechanism based on the risk involved at site for entire site with annual calendar and ensure tracking and closing
of the observation with the help of team.
21. Develop cohesive relationship with other function team members to execute various activities through team, committee and site work force for
effective “line management responsibility” concept.
22. Prepare master list of Worst-case scenarios for mock drills (internal and external) and execute the same for identification
Required Knowledge base and experience:
1. B .Tech/M.Tech in engineering (Chemical or Environmental) would be preferred.
2. A recognised qualification or working towards a recognised Health & Safety management qualification, such as a PDIS, ADIS or equivalent.
3. Sound Knowledge in EHS field and Management systems
4. Experience of auditing and co-ordinating document control systems is an advantage.
5. At least 10 to 15 years of experience in the chemical industry, preferably in a high process safety hazard manufacturing environment.
6.Lead auditor for IMS, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is preferred.
Experience in matrix organization exposure will be added advantage.
