The Control Systems Engineer provides technical support for process control systems in complex processing facilities, with a primary focus on alarm management and alarm system performance improvement. About the Position The Machinery Monitoring Engineer is part of Reliability and Integrity organization within Chevron’s ENGINE Center.  This role provides remote monitoring, diagnostics, and development of new solutions for critical rotating equipment across Chevron's North America deepwater operating assets.  Monitoring activities include the subsea pump predictive analytics development and monitoring, review of oil samples and analysis, major rotating equipment optimization and performance analysis reviews, history brief assistance after major repairs while providing insights to business unit customers through weekly or bi-weekly reporting and meetings. Key responsibilities Support the expansion and deployment of predictive analytics and advanced diagnostic tools for machinery performance evaluation and early warning detection, with a particular focus on subsea pump monitoring and performance analysis. Subsea equipment monitoring includes subsea pumps and support systems, including HPUs and control systems. This requires interfacing with the Deepwater Support Center and the Subsea Operations Team.  Identifying and reporting subsea equipment anomalies promptly to the subsea operations team.  Maintaining and updating the equipment performance monitoring tool and integrating any new subsea pump systems installed into the tool. Engage closely with deepwater engineering and operations teams to support equipment troubleshooting, identify long-term performance trends, and detect early signs of degradation or abnormal operation. Perform equipment health assessments and provide data-driven optimization and reliability improvement recommendations. Review, and analyse lubricating oil sample reports, assess machinery condition, develop trend analyses, and proactively notify the region of abnormal conditions or emerging risks. Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for benchmarking critical rotating equipment reliability, availability, and efficiency metrics across the region. Assist in the development of equipment history briefs following major maintenance or repair activities, ensuring lessons learned and performance impacts are clearly documented. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized (AICTE) university Extensive experience in rotating equipment operation, maintenance, system optimization and machinery condition monitoring analysis Proven experience in machinery monitoring - predictive analytics models for subsea equipment. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years’ experience as a machinery engineer or analyst in an Oil and Gas operating facility Skilled use of Smart Signal / Uptime AI / Any other predictive analytics software / ability to create, tune and modify models. Prior experience working in Oil and Gas Processing facility, subsea equipment and operation experience. Prior experience using OSI Plant Information and SEEQ is a plus. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
