Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Linux Support Engineer to join our Managed Services team. The role involves providing 24×7 operational support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for Linux-based systems across on-premises and multi-cloud environments (AWS, or Azure, GCP). The ideal candidate will combine deep Linux expertise with strong customer service skills and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide L2/L3 support for Linux servers in a managed services environment, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
· Monitor system health and respond to incidents using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, ServiceNow).
· Perform regular maintenance tasks: patching, upgrades, kernel tuning, and security hardening.
· Troubleshoot OS, network, and application issues, ensuring adherence to SLAs and ITIL processes.
· Implement and maintain configuration management and automation (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar).
· Collaborate with Cloud, Network, and Security teams to support multi-cloud operations.
· Maintain detailed documentation for standard operating procedures, root cause analyses, and change requests.
· Participate in on-call rotation for 24×7 support and planned maintenance windows.
· Work closely with clients to provide proactive recommendations for capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 3–6 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
· Strong knowledge of cloud environments (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP a plus).
· Experience with scripting/automation (Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform).
· Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
· Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
· Hands-on experience with security hardening, patch management, and backup solutions.
· Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
Preferred / Nice to Have
· Relevant certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Linux Foundation Certified Engineer.
· Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
· Experience with FinOps or cost-optimization practices in cloud environments.
