Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled Shell Scripting Developer with strong experience in Linux environments to support development and deployment workflows in enterprise applications. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing shell scripts to automate system processes and integrate with databases such as Teradata, SQL, or Oracle SQL. The candidate will focus solely on development activities related to automation and deployment, supporting operational efficiency and system reliability in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
Software Requirements
Required Software Proficiency:
Shell scripting (Bash, Korn shell, or similar) supporting automation, process control, and workflow management
Linux operating system environment support supporting development and deployment tasks
Databases: Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle SQL — for query integration, data validation, and process automation support
Version control: Git, GitHub — for managing scripts, code, and collaborative development workflows
Preferred Software Skills:
Support for automation frameworks or tools for deployment and process orchestration
Knowledge of cloud deployment support (AWS, Azure, or GCP) supporting script execution in cloud environments (preferred)
Overall Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain shell scripts supporting automation, deployment, and environment setup activities in enterprise systems
Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement process automation supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines
Optimize and troubleshoot scripts for performance, reliability, and scalability supporting high-volume data processing and system stability
Support database query integration within scripts for data validation, processing, and migration tasks
Support system upgrades, environment configurations, and automation of routine operational tasks
Document script functionalities, workflows, and operational procedures supporting audit and compliance standards
Support incident resolution by automating troubleshooting workflows and streamlining process flows

Background supporting environment upgrades, system migrations, and automation initiatives in high-availability settings
Experience supporting enterprise environments with high security and compliance standards (preferred)
Day-to-Day Activities
Design, develop, test, and support shell scripts supporting automation, deployment, and system monitoring
Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate workflows and improve operational efficiencies
Troubleshoot script failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement robust solutions support high system reliability
Support system upgrades, data migrations, and environment setup activities supporting operational continuity
Maintain comprehensive documentation of scripts, workflows, and operational procedures
Support incident response through scripted automation, reducing manual resolution time
Continuously evaluate new scripting tools, automation practices, and process improvements supporting agility
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline
5+ years experience developing and supporting enterprise-level automation scripts/support workflows
Strong understanding supporting large, secure, and scalable system environments supporting enterprise applications
Experience with scripting in Linux environments supporting complex operations and automation tasks
Knowledge of scripting best practices supporting security, auditability, and operational reliability (preferred)
