Job Overview:
The Li-Ion Battery Pack Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that lithium-ion battery packs meet the highest quality and safety standards. This role involves conducting inspections, testing, and evaluating battery packs throughout the production process to ensure they comply with both internal and external quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
Perform routine inspections and functional tests on battery packs, including electrical performance, safety, and physical characteristics. Use specialized testing equipment and techniques to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Quality Control Procedures:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and documentation. Ensure that all procedures are followed correctly and consistently throughout the production process.
Defect Analysis:
Investigate and analyze quality issues and defects to determine root causes. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of inspection results, test data, and quality reports. Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
Compliance:
Ensure that battery packs meet all relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications, such as UL, IEC, or other applicable standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and production efficiency. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality improvement projects.
Training:
Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and inspection techniques. Promote a culture of quality awareness and adherence to quality practices.
Calibration and Maintenance:
Ensure that all testing and inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Report any malfunctions or calibration issues to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in quality control or assurance, preferably in the battery manufacturing industry. Experience with lithium-ion battery technology is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of quality control principles and techniques.
Familiarity with testing standards and methods specific to lithium-ion batteries.
Proficiency in using inspection and testing equipment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications in quality control or inspection (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
Capability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with typical shifts [9am-6pm].
Potential for overtime based on production demands.
