Title and Summary Lead Technical Program Manager Mastercard's AWS Platform Engineering team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive complex, high-impact platform initiatives that enable scalable, secure, and efficient cloud operations. This role combines technical expertise, program management, and strategic thinking to align the AWS platform’s capabilities with organizational goals. As a Lead TPM, you will partner with engineering, product, and business teams to manage cross-functional programs, streamline processes, and ensure successful execution of platform initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering the roadmap for the AWS platform, focusing on security, scalability, and innovation. ALL ABOUT YOU • Overall career experience of 8-13 years as a TPM or in a similar role • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, with at least 3 years in cloud or platform engineering domains. • Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional technical programs on time and within scope. • Strong understanding of AWS services, including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, and Control Tower. • Deep technical acumen and the ability to understand engineering challenges and solutions. • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and executive stakeholders. • Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban frameworks for program delivery. • Excellent problem-solving, risk management, and prioritization skills. Preferred Qualifications • Hands-on experience with multi-account AWS environments and governance tools like AWS Organizations and Service Control Policies (SCPs). • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, including PCI DSS, NIST, SOC2, or ISO27001. • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer. • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. The Role • Own the end-to-end execution of complex technical programs, from inception to delivery, across the AWS platform ecosystem. • Define program goals, success metrics, and timelines, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and platform strategy. • Develop and maintain the AWS platform roadmap, incorporating stakeholder input and balancing competing priorities. • Collaborate with platform engineers, architects, product managers, and business leaders to ensure seamless program execution. • Act as the primary liaison between engineering teams and senior leadership, providing clear updates on program status, risks, and dependencies. • Foster a culture of collaboration and shared accountability across teams. • Anticipate potential bottlenecks, manage escalations, and drive resolution for complex technical and organizational challenges. • Identify program risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies. • Lead efforts to improve platform delivery processes, driving efficiency and consistency across program management practices. • Advocate for platform best practices, ensuring initiatives align with architectural and security standards.
