Role Overview: A Lead Software Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for driving technical excellence, ensuring high-quality project delivery, and mentoring engineers at scale. This role owns project-level technical design, enforces engineering standards, ensures process adherence, and serves as the bridge between engineering teams and leadership. Key Responsibilities: Own and review 100% of technical designs for assigned projects. Ensure complete technical solutioning is prepared before sprint execution. Drive adherence to architecture, coding, and review standards across the project. Ensure high-quality deliverables with minimal production defects. Ensure good test coverage across the project. Review merge requests in a timely manner and maintain high review quality standards. Propose and implement technical improvements across the project. Mentor engineers and drive measurable growth in technical and professional capability. Conduct regular 1-1 meetings with team members. Ensure sprint delivery commitments are met with minimal variance. Resolve escalations within agreed timelines. Ensure timely communication of project updates to stakeholders. Drive adoption of engineering processes and address gaps identified in retrospectives. Lead technical discussions and clearly communicate project-level risks, trade-offs, and progress to stakeholders. Technical Requirements: 10–15 years of software development experience. Strong expertise in Java and SpringBoot for backend systems. Solid understanding of React.js and modern frontend architecture. Proven experience designing scalable RESTful APIs and distributed systems. Strong understanding of RDBMS (Oracle/PostgreSQL) performance optimization. Experience working with Kafka or event-driven architectures. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., AeroSpike). Strong grasp of system design principles, scalability patterns, and performance engineering. Experience driving architecture reviews and enforcing design standards. Hands-on experience with Git-based workflows and structured code review practices. Strong debugging capability across complex, multi-layer systems.
