The team works on, but is not limited to, testing customer use cases, integration testing, scalability testing,  stress  and longevity testing. This team is also responsible for qualifying security services such as malware detection, URL filtering, web security, IPS, threat  modeling , SD-WAN and SaaS/IaaS security capabilities all through a single Cisco Meraki Dashboard. Our products are used in over a million  networks  and our customers rely on our products to serve tens of millions of people. With the large footprint that we have, quality is our highest priority.            About the Job:     Cisco is looking for a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test to join to support test qualification of our Dashboard that supports Cisco Meraki MX and Cisco Catalyst product offerings. As a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test, your responsibility includes designing and building testbeds, creating and executing the integrated/application tests that resemble customer use-case for SD-WAN and Security solutions over physical, cloud, on-prem Cisco Meraki MX and Cisco Catalyst products via Cisco Meraki Dashboard, and contributing to industry-leading technologies in the cloud ecosystem. As a part of a geographically distributed team, you will collaborate with multiple Cisco engineering teams and stakeholders around the globe to develop a  fully-furnished  test strategy. To be successful in this role, you will need to  have motivation , curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and experience with telco technologies and automation as a breath.     In addition to driving test strategy, test planning and performing testing on large-scale networks you will provide technical leadership to entire QA team to drive and implement  new ideas  to optimize and alleviate the team.           What You Will Be Doing     Develop a comprehensive understanding of the use cases/workflows of the MX solution deployed in the customer environment.      Participate in requirements/design discussions with Product managers & development team and represent the QA team.      Design a test strategy document for the Cisco MX features and collaborate with other QA and development teams to cover all aspects of the features being developed.      Execution of tests and reporting test results, and test metrics  pertaining to  these tests.      Develop automation scripts ahead of feature testing to enable CI/CD ( i.e  Automation Driven Testing)      Evaluate and develop simple features when  required  with Test Driven Development approach      Evaluate and provide a fix for defects  identified  during testing      Invest in AI driven innovation and out-of-the-box thinking to foster the originality of ideas to productize them.      Analyze  the test gaps that resulted in customer issues and incorporate them into the test strategy.      Proactively,  identify  gaps in the regression test automation and improve automation coverage.           What You Will Be Bringing     Bachelor’s / Master of Science Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent or a related field, or equivalent experience)      12+ years of experience in Testing routing or SD-WAN domain with at least 8+ years of Automation/Development experience.      In-depth knowledge of SDWAN, Security, Layer-2(VLAN/802.1Q), and Layer-3 (BGP/IP/OSPF/VPN/IPSec/NAT) and are at ease to ramp up quickly on  new technologies  and concepts.      Proficiency  in writing quality code with one of the programming languages such as Ruby, Python, and Golang.      Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and Gen-AI prompting techniques      Good understanding of traffic generators such as  TRex , Linux Tools, Spirent, IXIA, etc and ability to explore tools and techniques to improvise the testing       Effective communication skills and proven  track record  of collaboration with stakeholders.         What makes you stand out     AI usage day-in and day-out      Feature bug fixing with better quality in Firmware or Backend or UI      The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management      Research of applications and Framework experience – Obtained patent(s), Published Whitepaper / Yellow paper on embedded solutions      Experience with developing frameworks for CI/CD pipeline     Working experience with Cisco and/or Cisco Catalyst Devices     Why Cisco?  At Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era – and beyond.
