MES Software Engineer – Rockwell FactoryTalk
Role Summary
KLA is seeking a highly talented and self-motivated MES Engineer with strong experience in Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC) and Modular Framework to support and advance discrete manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for the design, development, configuration, integration, and deployment of MES solutions, working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to enable scalable, compliant, and optimized production systems.
Key Responsibilities
MES Development & Configuration
Configure, customize, and develop MES applications based on functional specifications and business requirements.
Design and implement solutions using Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC) and Modular Framework.
Ensure solutions comply with programming standards, validation requirements, and industry regulations (e.g., ISA‑95).
Support MES installations, upgrades, and production deployments.
Manufacturing Process Integration
Collaborate with internal customers to understand discrete manufacturing processes, production goals, and operational challenges.
Conduct manufacturing process assessments and gap analysis to identify opportunities for MES integration and optimization.
Translate manufacturing workflows and business objectives into actionable MES architecture and solution designs.
System Integration & Data Strategy
Define and implement data integration strategies between MES and:
ERP systems
PLCs
Other enterprise and shop-floor systems
Enable real-time data exchange, traceability, and manufacturing visibility.
Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvement.
Project Leadership & Collaboration
Lead or contribute to end-to-end MES implementation projects, from design through deployment.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT, engineering, manufacturing, and external partners.
Provide expert-level guidance on MES configuration, customization, and integration.
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and aligned with business objectives.
Required Technical Skills
MES & Rockwell
Strong hands-on experience with:
Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC)
Modular Framework
Experience with MES installation, upgrades, and lifecycle support
Understanding of ISA‑95 and manufacturing system architectures
Software Development
Strong proficiency in:
Java
JavaScript
ReactJS
SQL
HTML / CSS

Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services
DevOps & Modern Engineering Practices
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including:

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years
