Role Overview
We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to support the integration of multiple external systems into the VSK platform. The role will primarily focus on designing, developing, and managing secure API integrations with various providers, vendors, SaaS platforms, State MIS systems, NGOs, and other stakeholders. The candidate will work closely with internal product, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless, secure, and reliable data exchange across systems.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Develop, integrate, and maintain
secure APIs (both push and pull mechanisms)
for external system integrations.
Work on end-to-end API lifecycle management including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Integrate APIs from third-party vendors, SaaS platforms, State MIS systems, and partner organizations into VSK.
Resolve API-related issues such as authentication errors, data mismatches, timeout issues, schema validation errors, etc.
Implement and manage
cron jobs / scheduled data pipelines
for automated data syncing.
Ensure secure data transfer using best practices (token-based auth, encryption, secure endpoints, etc.).
Work with
AWS cloud infrastructure
, including services relevant to APIs and data storage.
Manage and interact with
Data Lakes / structured and unstructured data repositories
.
Support deployments and integrations in
on-premise data center environments (physical servers)
.
Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams for environment setup, monitoring, and performance optimization.
Maintain proper documentation for APIs, integration workflows, and system configurations.
Key Qualifications & Skills Required
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree - BE / BTech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Technical Skills
3 years of experience in backend development and API integrations.
Strong understanding of
RESTful APIs
, HTTP methods, JSON/XML, and API authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, API keys).
Experience in developing both
push and pull APIs
.
Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, etc.).
Experience with
AWS services
(EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, etc.).
Exposure to
Data Lakes and large-scale data handling
.
Experience working in
on-premise server environments
in addition to cloud.
Knowledge of
cron jobs / schedulers
and automation scripts.
Basic understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL).
Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
Preferred Skills
Experience working on government or large-scale public platforms.
Understanding of data security, compliance, and secure integration practices.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and coordinate with multiple external stakeholders.
