Position Overview
The Junior Computer Generated Artist will work closely with our team of experienced artists and designers to create high-quality CGI assets and visual effects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for digital art and computer graphics to gain valuable experience and grow their skills in a collaborative and creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. CGI Asset Creation
- Assist in the creation of 3D models, textures, and materials for use in CGI projects, including characters, environments, props, and special effects.
- Collaborate with senior artists to refine and optimize CGI assets for use in animations, simulations, and renderings.
- Ensure that CGI assets meet project requirements, technical specifications, and quality standards.
2. Rendering and Lighting
- Set up and adjust lighting, shaders, and rendering parameters to achieve desired visual effects and aesthetic goals.
- Assist in rendering CGI scenes and sequences using rendering software such as Arnold, V-Ray, or Redshift.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot rendering issues and optimize render settings for efficiency and quality.
3. Animation and Effects
- Assist in the creation of animations and visual effects, including character animation, particle effects, dynamics simulations, and compositing.
- Work with senior artists to integrate CGI elements seamlessly into live-action footage or background plates.
- Collaborate with the team to refine animation timing, motion dynamics, and overall visual impact.
4. Project Support and Collaboration
- Support project teams in the execution of CGI projects, including asset preparation, scene setup, and rendering.
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and other team members to brainstorm ideas, solve creative challenges, and explore innovative techniques.
- Assist in maintaining organized project files, documentation, and asset libraries to support project workflow and version control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Graphics, Animation, Visual Effects, or related field.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
- Familiarity with rendering engines such as Arnold, V-Ray, or Redshift.
- Strong understanding of lighting, shading, and rendering principles.
- Basic knowledge of animation principles and techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work within project deadlines.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take direction and feedback from senior artists and incorporate it into work.
