Role overview
We are looking for an experienced
Jira Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering, configuring, customizing, and optimizing Atlassian tools to support business processes, agile teams, service operations, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities:
Administration of Jira and Tempo, ensuring the effective operation of business-critical functions such as accurate time tracking, timesheet compliance, and alignment with billing and revenue recognition processes.
Administer, configure, and maintain Jira Service Management, and Confluence Cloud environments.
Design and enforce Jira governance standards across all delivery teams, ensuring consistency and best practices in project configuration and setup.
Create and manage projects, workflows, issue types, schemes, permission schemes, automation rules, and custom fields.
Confident and comfortable in working with multiple teams like delivery, HR, finance and senior executives.
Play a key role in integrations by collaborating across teams to design, implement, and support integrations between enterprise applications such as Jira, Salesforce, NetSuite, Keka, and related systems.
Build and manage Jira Service Management portals, request types, forms, SLAs, queues, and automation.
Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports, including but not limited to timesheet compliance, billed utilization, planned versus actual burn, revenue leakage, and delivery performance metrics, to support informed leadership decision-making.
Manage Atlassian user access, groups, roles, and integrations with identity providers (SSO, SCIM, Okta/AD).
Install, evaluate, and administer Atlassian Marketplace apps.
Provide user support, troubleshooting, documentation, and regular training sessions for teams.
Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in the Atlassian ecosystem.
Qualifications required:
4+ years of hands-on experience as a Jira Administrator (Cloud preferred).
Strong understanding of agile and ITSM processes (Scrum, Kanban, SLAs, incident/change management).
Expertise in Jira project configuration: workflows, screens, schemes, custom fields, permissions, and notifications.
Experience with Jira Service Management portals, queues, SLAs, and automation.
Good knowledge of Atlassian Automation, including JSON/Smart Values.
Familiarity with Confluence administration and space management.
Good understanding of user management, Atlassian Access, SSO, and security best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot complex Jira issues and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Good to have skills:
Experience with marketplace apps like Tempo, EazyBI, ScriptRunner, etc.
Exposure to REST APIs for integrations or automation.
Experience working with Jira Server/Data Center (onprem) versions.
Hands-on experience with Jira onprem to Cloud migration projects.
Atlassian Certifications (ACP-120, ACP-620, ACP-520) are a strong plus.
Must have skills:
4+ years of Jira Administration experience with Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
Strong expertise in Jira configuration, workflows, permissions, automation, and governance.
Experience with Jira Service Management portals, SLAs, queues, and ITSM processes.
Knowledge of Atlassian Access, user management, SSO, security, and stakeholder collaboration.
