About this role

Job Purpose: We are seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on expertise to join our dynamic team. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure, encompassing desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, firewalls, and more. Your responsibilities will include the installation, setup, configuration, and maintenance of these components, while also providing support for a wide range of IT systems. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables: IT Infrastructure Management: Exhibit proficiency in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure components; this includes servers, networks, storage systems, virtualization, operating systems, and other hardware and software components, including desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, and firewalls. System and Network Proficiency: Possess an in-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks, enabling you to diagnose and address hardware malfunctions, software issues, and networking problems efficiently. Asset Management:   Maintain an organized inventory of IT assets, ensuring accurate records are kept for tracking and auditing purposes. Technical Support: Offer technical support for hardware and software-related issues, resolving them promptly to minimize disruptions.   Security, Privacy and Compliance:    Uphold internet security and data privacy principles, ensuring the safety and confidentiality of our IT systems and data to protect the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes managing user access controls, implementing security patches and updates, monitoring for security breaches, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices. System Administration:   Administer and maintain servers, operating systems, and related infrastructure components.    Install, configure, and troubleshoot server hardware, operating systems, and applications.   Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure optimal operation. Network Management: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.   Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and virtual private networks (VPNs) Data Storage and Backup: Manage data storage systems, including storage area networks (SANs), network-attached storage (NAS), and cloud storage solutions. Implement data backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data. Virtualization and Cloud Computing:   Deploy and manage virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V to optimize server resources and improve scalability.   Implement and manage cloud computing solutions, such as Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), for increased flexibility and cost efficiency.   IT Infrastructure Monitoring: Deploy and utilize monitoring tools to proactively monitor the performance, availability, and capacity of IT infrastructure components.   Monitor system logs, alerts, and performance metrics to identify and resolve issues promptly. Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience Qualification : A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology will be preferred Experience: 7 to 12 years’ experience in IT Infrastructure Relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or VMware Certified Professional (VCP), are highly valued. Proficiency in server administration, network management, operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc), virtualization technologies, storage systems, and cloud computing platforms. Familiarity with IT security principles and best practices.
