The
IT Application Technical Analyst
is a mid-level position in the IT Application
Analyst job family.
The primary responsibility of the
IT Application Technical Analyst
is to provide highly
skilled technical expertise in business application administration. They consult and
collaborate with the application analyst, development, and infrastructure teams, as
well as business stakeholders to provide a high degree of system reliability,
availability and performance.
Perform business application administration
IT Application Technical Analysts
perform Business Application Administration tasks
as requested. These tasks include patching and upgrades, moving changes to
production, security configurations, spool management/administration, batch
management/administration, daily health checks (work processes, users, system
logs, dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces and disk space), user creation,
access rights configurations, backups, and creating/maintaining integration points
with other external systems.
Install, upgrade and maintain business application systems
They install, upgrade and maintain business application for Dimension Data
companies. They apply Support Packages, Support Stacks, patches and component
upgrades. These individuals manage application users, authorisations and profiles.
They maintain the integrity of the application system environment by managing the
dev, QA, and production systems and the data they contain.
Resolve problems
IT Application Technical Analyst
perform troubleshooting and analysis for application
technical problems and issues. They work with application and infrastructure teams
to troubleshoot and analyse problems/issues.
Perform configurations
They configure required monitoring configuration for the business applications
systems and databases. The
IT Application Technical Analyst
performs monitoring
and tuning on applications and databases.

to investigate problems and develop/execute appropriate action plans. They

In this position you will be required to:
Perform Business Application Administration tasks as requested.
Install, upgrade and maintain Business Application systems including.
Apply Support Packages, Support Stacks, patches and component upgrades.
Manage Application users, authorisations and profiles.
Maintain the integrity of the Application environment.
Perform troubleshooting and analysis for basis problems and issues.
Perform configuration for Business Application systems and databases.
Requirements:
Education
Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or related fields
Application Certification preferred
Experience
At least 3 – 4 years’ work experience in Business Application technical management
Experience with OS and database management
Experience in middleware and B2B applications
