Internal Tech teams manage and support our internal IT infrastructure, systems, and tools, ensuring operational efficiency, security, and continuous improvement, enabling employees to work effectively and securely with up-to-date technology resources. They bridge the gap between the company's overall IT strategy and the execution of that strategy to ensure the company selects and executes the right projects and programs.
As an IT Software Asset Management Officer at Endava, you will play a key role in governing software assets across their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, optimizing software usage and costs, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate data and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of software assets;
Plan, monitor, and record software assets to make sure they comply with vendor contracts in the existing software tools;
Oversee the
end-to-end lifecycle management of software assets
, including procurement, deployment, usage, renewal, and retirement
Ensure
software license compliance
with vendor agreements, contracts, and regulatory requirements through continuous monitoring and reconciliation
Maintain accurate records of
software assets, entitlements, and configurations
within SAM tools and CMDB systems
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Procurement, Finance, Security) to
optimize software usage, reduce costs, and eliminate redundancies
Support and drive
software asset optimization initiatives
, including license re-harvesting, rationalization, and cost-saving strategies
Manage and validate
software inventory and configuration items (CIs)
, including relationships, dependencies, and lifecycle status
Produce and distribute
software compliance reports, audit reports, and usage analytics
, including trend analysis and risk identification
Support
software demand forecasting and budgeting
, working closely with peers and analyzing spend data
Drive
continuous improvement initiatives
in SAM tools, processes, and data quality
Monitor and control
software-related spend
, ensuring alignment with budgets, and supporting financial planning through accurate licensing and usage data
Partner with Finance and Procurement to
analyze software costs, and validate invoices,
including renewals, negotiations, and cost-allocation
Define and maintain documentation of policies, procedures, processes, and reports concerning IT assets and configuration management;
Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Economics / Mathematics / Computer Science / Computer Engineering or alternate;
Proven experience in IT Asset Management (managing day-to-day operations using a SAM tool/CMDB);
Strong understanding of
software licensing models
(e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM) and compliance requirements;
Knowledge of contract management;
Knowledge of
financial principles related to IT cost management
, budgeting, and vendor contract management
Strong analytical skills with the ability to
interpret complex data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights
Proficiency in
data analysis tools
(e.g., Excel, Power BI or similar reporting tools)
Strong ability to carry out assigned tasks independently with little supervision;
Excellent organizational skills;
Excellent time management qualities;
Familiarity with
ITIL practices
, CMDB management, and asset lifecycle processes;
Excellent at performing multiple tasks at the same time without erring;
Strong communication skills;
Strong proficiency in English (spoken and written).
