About the Role:
The Quality Intern will support day-to-day quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, internal SOPs, and regulatory requirements across materials, processes, and finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)
Perform IPQC checks at Raw Material (RM), Semi-Finished (SF), and Finished Goods (FG) stages as per defined quality plans.
Verify adherence to approved specifications, SOPs, and quality standards.
Identify, document, and report deviations and non-conformities.
2. Raw Material & Packaging Quality Control
Conduct quality checks on raw materials and packaging materials (primary and secondary).
Verify incoming materials against approved specifications and COAs.
Ensure proper material identification, segregation, and status labeling.
3. Primary Packaging & FIFO Control
Monitor primary packaging quality to ensure product integrity and compliance.
Ensure implementation of FIFO / FEFO practices for RM, packaging materials, and finished goods.
Support traceability and batch control activities.
4. GMP, GHP & Hygiene Compliance
Support implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
Monitor hygiene practices, sanitation activities, and personnel hygiene compliance.
Assist in verification of prerequisite programs (PRPs).
5. CAPA & Root Cause Analysis
Assist in raising non-conformance reports (NCRs) for quality deviations.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and follow-up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Support tracking and effectiveness verification of CAPA.
6. Food Safety Management System (FSMS)
Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 22000:2018 / FSSC 22000 v6 requirements.
Assist during internal audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
Maintain quality records and documentation as per FSMS requirements.
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain inspection records, logs, and checklists accurately and timely.
Prepare daily and weekly quality reports as required.
Support SOP updates and continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Other Quality Responsibilities
Support investigation of quality-related customer complaints.
Assist during internal, customer, and certification audits.
Perform other quality-related tasks assigned by the company.
Education & Experience:
Pursuing or completed graduation in Science / Food Science / Food Technology / Chemistry / Microbiology or a related field.
OR
Graduation in any other field with 0.5–1 year of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within the food, beverage, or FMCG industry is a plus.
Freshers with relevant academic projects or internship experience are also encouraged to apply.
