Sarla Aviation, a pioneer in the development of sustainable, efficient, and safe air transportation systems, is dedicated to influencing the future of aviation.    About the Role:    We are developing a next-generation eVTOL aircraft and are seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join our Test & Evaluation / Flight Test team. This role focuses on flight test instrumentation, ground test instrumentation, and lab data acquisition systems, supporting everything from early bench testing through certification-driven flight testing. You will own end-to-end instrumentation, from sensor selection and installation to DAQ configuration, real-time telemetry, data pipelines, and post-test analysis.   Roles and Responsibilities:  Design, integrate, install, and maintain instrumentation systems for lab test, ground test, and flight test environments Select and apply sensors including strain gauges, thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, pressure transducers, vibration sensors, and electrical measurement hardware Define sampling rates, filtering, signal conditioning, grounding, shielding, and time synchronization strategies Configure and support data acquisition (DAQ) systems, onboard recorders, and real-time telemetry Support flight test execution, including pre-test checkout, live instrumentation troubleshooting, and post-flight data validation Collaborate with test, structures, propulsion, avionics, and software teams to define instrumentation requirements Develop, improve, or support instrumentation data pipelines from sensor → DAQ → storage → processing → visualization Use Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar tools for data acquisition, monitoring, post-processing, and quality checks Validate data integrity, perform sanity checks, and flag anomalies during and after tests Develop and maintain calibration procedures and records in line with aerospace quality standards Produce and maintain instrumentation documentation including wiring diagrams, sensor layouts, test configurations, and calibration reports Support certification-oriented testing and audits with clear, traceable, defensible data   Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of experience as an Instrumentation Engineer, Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer, or Test & Evaluation Engineer Hands-on experience with DAQ systems, signal conditioning, and sensor integration Experience supporting flight test, ground test, lab test, HIL/SIL, or iron bird testing Proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools such as LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent Strong understanding of sampling theory, aliasing, filtering, sensor accuracy, and uncertainty Comfortable working in fast-paced test environments, including live test and flight test support Preferred Experience: Direct experience in flight test instrumentation or experimental aircraft testing Experience with electric aircraft, eVTOL, advanced air mobility (AAM), or electric propulsion systems Familiarity with instrumentation data pipelines, databases, and automated data validation Experience with time synchronization (IRIG-B, IEEE-1588 / PTP, GPS time) Familiarity with aerospace interfaces such as CAN, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet-based DAQ Experience in a startup or rapid development aerospace environment   Why Join Us?
