Please visit: Alfa Laval The Position / About the Job : We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Inside Sales Engineer to drive service sales growth through customer engagement, opportunity generation, quotation management, and commercial follow-up activities. Experience in process industries such as food, dairy, edible oil, pharma, chemical, beverage, or utilities will be preferred. The role will focus on identifying non-buying and underpenetrated customers across PAN India clusters, understanding customer challenges, proposing suitable service solutions, and driving order closure through proactive inside sales activities. The position will also support major key accounts with multiple plant locations and ensure effective lead management through CRM coordination with Area Sales Managers and Service Engineers. Key Responsibilities : Customer Development & Opportunity Generation Identify non-buying, inactive, and low-penetration customers from installed base and CRM data across PAN India clusters. Proactively connect with customers to understand equipment status, operational issues, service requirements, and support expectations. Identify opportunities for: Spare parts Service agreements Repairs and refurbishment Upgrades and retrofits Service patrols and inspections Generate and maintain a healthy sales opportunity pipeline. Quotation & Commercial Management Prepare techno-commercial quotations in coordination with internal stakeholders. Submit and follow up quotations with customers for technical and commercial closure. Conduct commercial discussions and negotiations to secure orders. Ensure timely conversion of opportunities into confirmed business. Customer Engagement & Service Support Coordinate service patrol visits wherever required to identify service opportunities and support customer decision-making. Work closely with service engineers, application teams, and Area Sales Managers to provide timely customer support. Act as a single-window coordinator for assigned key accounts with multiple plant locations. Key Account Management Support major customers through centralized coordination and proactive engagement. Track pending offers, buying trends, shutdown plans, and recurring service requirements. Build strong customer relationships and improve repeat business conversion. CRM & Lead Management Create opportunities in CRM for leads generated by field service engineers. Assign relevant opportunities to Area Sales Managers for field follow-up and closure. Track lead progress, follow-up actions, and order status. Maintain CRM hygiene and ensure accurate reporting of opportunities and business status. Coordination & Internal Collaboration Coordinate with sales, service operations, application teams, and customer support functions for faster response and execution. Support business reporting, pipeline reviews, and opportunity tracking activities. Desired Profile : Education Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Industrial Engineering or related field. Experience 2–6 years of experience in: Inside sales Service sales Field Service Application support Aftermarket/service business Industrial equipment sales support CRM / ERP Experience Physical & Environmental Factors : Special physical, psychological and work life balance demands of the role Market is very dynamic and has strong demands from customer for faster solutions and deliveries. It requires the manager to be alert to the market conditions and closely coordinate with all stake holders. Travelling is essential, as the manager is responsible for covering a wide geographical region Maximum time needs to be spent at the customer’s end. Should be able to withstand work pressures.
