Job Description & Summary:
This is not a typical PMO role. You'll be embedded with the R&D leadership of a fast-moving wind turbine manufacturer that is building its engineering function from the ground up — defining how projects get tracked, how decisions get made, and how a growing team of engineers stays aligned on priorities. The R&D head is technically strong but operationally stretched, and you'll be the person who takes the overhead off their plate: standing up process where there is none, bringing structure without bureaucracy, and making sure the right things get done in the right order. If you've worked inside a wind OEM during a period of rapid growth — or in any industrial R&D environment where the org was ahead of its processes — this will feel familiar.
Responsibilities:
Build and run the R&D
programme
management function from scratch — intake,

, resource allocation, milestone tracking
Stand up lightweight governance: stage-gate frameworks, decision logs, RAID registers, and weekly rhythm-of-business cadence
Translate R&D portfolio priorities into executable sprint and project plans, working directly with engineering leads
Own the
programme
reporting pack - status, risks, decisions needed - for the R&D head and executive stakeholders
Identify and close process gaps as they emerge: design reviews, drawing release workflows, supplier qualification tracking, IP logging
Support hiring and onboarding coordination as the R&D team scales
Act as the connective tissue between R&D, IT, procurement, and external partners
Mandatory skill sets:
