Mid-Level Houdini Environment Artist (Foliage & Procedural Systems)
The Role seeking a
Mid-Level Houdini Environment Artist
with a specialized focus on
procedural foliage and natural world-building
. You will be responsible for creating the systems that grow our worlds—from individual plant species to expansive, biologically accurate ecosystems.
The ideal candidate bridges the gap between a technical TD and a creative environment artist, using procedural logic to solve complex artistic challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Procedural Asset Creation:
Develop high-quality foliage, including trees, shrubs, and ground cover.
Scattering & Distribution:
Build robust scattering systems that account for terrain features like slope, elevation, and moisture maps.
Motion & Dynamics:
Set up lightweight wind and secondary motion systems using Vellum or point-based deformations to ensure environments feel "alive."
Scene Assembly:
Work within a
USD (Solaris)
pipeline to assemble large-scale scenes and ensure assets are optimized for rendering.
Optimization:
Implement efficient instancing and LOD (Level of Detail) strategies to maintain viewport performance and render stability.
