Designation: Head – Supply Chain & Logistics

About the Role
The Head – Supply Chain & Logistics will be responsible for leading and managing the organization’s end-to-end supply chain, logistics, warehousing, transportation, import-export operations, and distribution network.
The role requires a strategic and operational leader who can optimize supply chain performance, strengthen logistics efficiency, improve inventory flow, and ensure seamless movement of raw materials and finished goods across domestic and international markets.
The incumbent will play a key role in driving operational excellence, cost optimization, scalability, and supply chain transformation initiatives aligned with the organization’s global growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business growth and operational objectives.
Drive end-to-end supply chain optimization across manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
Establish efficient planning processes to improve responsiveness, reduce lead times, and enhance service levels.
Collaborate with production, sales, and finance teams for accurate demand forecasting and operational planning.
Ensure uninterrupted material flow and timely product availability across business operations.
2. Logistics & Transportation Management
Lead inbound and outbound logistics operations for domestic and international shipments.
Optimize transportation networks, freight management, and route planning to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Manage relationships with transporters, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of finished goods across global markets.
Drive logistics automation and operational improvements for enhanced service performance.
3. Import & Export Operations
Oversee end to end import and export processes including shipping coordination, customs clearance, and trade documentation.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, and shipping standards.
Manage CHA coordination, freight negotiations, and international logistics operations.
Monitor global trade policies, tariffs, and regulatory changes impacting supply chain activities.
Ensure efficient execution of international shipments while minimizing delays and logistics costs.
4. Warehouse & Inventory Management
Lead warehouse operations and inventory management practices across locations.
Ensure optimum inventory levels while minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory costs.
Implement inventory control systems and real-time tracking mechanisms.
Improve warehouse productivity, storage utilization, and material movement efficiency.
Establish inventory accuracy standards and periodic audit mechanisms.
5. Process Optimization & Operational Excellence
Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives across supply chain and logistics functions.
Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies.
Leverage ERP systems and digital supply chain tools to improve visibility and operational control.
Monitor supply chain KPIs, logistics performance, and operational efficiency metrics.
Build scalable systems and processes to support future business expansion.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to statutory compliance, trade regulations, and logistics governance standards.
Develop risk mitigation strategies for supply disruptions, transportation delays, and global trade challenges.
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and sustainability standards across logistics operations.
Maintain audit readiness and ensure proper documentation for all logistics and trade activities.
7. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Build and lead a high-performing supply chain and logistics team.
Foster a culture of accountability, agility, innovation, and operational excellence.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to align supply chain capabilities with business priorities.
Provide strategic inputs to leadership for improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
12+ years of experience in supply chain and logistics management within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in handling global logistics, import-export operations, warehousing, and distribution management.
Exposure to international business operations and multi-location supply chain management preferred.
