About the Role
The Project Head will lead and execute end-to-end operational projects including plant infrastructure development, new product manufacturing setup, process expansion, automation initiatives, and strategic transformation projects.
This role is responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting defined quality and performance standards while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Project Planning & Execution
Lead complete lifecycle of projects from concept to commissioning.
Prepare detailed project charters, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
Ensure milestone tracking and timely completion.
Drive cross-functional coordination (Production, SCM, Quality, HR, Finance, EHS).
2.
Infrastructure Development
Lead plant expansion, new line setup, and civil/infrastructure development.
Plan utilities (power, compressed air, HVAC, water, ETP/STP, etc.).
Ensure optimal space utilization and layout planning.
Coordinate with contractors, architects, consultants, and government bodies.
3.
New Product Manufacturing Setup
Lead new product industrialization projects.
Plan machinery selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
Develop process flow, line balancing, and capacity planning.
Ensure readiness for pilot runs and commercial production.
4.
Capex & Budget Management
Prepare and manage Capex proposals.
Track project costs vs budget.
Drive ROI-based investment decisions.
Ensure financial discipline and cost optimization.
5.
Vendor & Contractor Management
Identify and onboard project vendors and technical partners.
Negotiate contracts and monitor deliverables.
Ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.
6.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure statutory approvals and regulatory compliance.
Conduct project risk assessment and mitigation planning.
Maintain EHS standards during execution.
Key Deliverables
On-time and within-budget project completion.
Successful commissioning of new infrastructure and manufacturing lines.
Achieving defined capacity, quality, and efficiency targets.
Zero major safety incidents during project execution.
ROI realization as per approved business case.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Textile / Equivalent)
MBA / PMP certification preferred
12–18+ years of experience in manufacturing operations
Minimum 5–7 years in leading large-scale operational or infrastructure projects
Strong exposure to plant setup or expansion projects
