Job Title: Hardware Test & Validation Engineer
Location:
On-site (Pune)
Reporting to:
Engineering Manager
Platform Proficiency:
Jira, Schematic and Gerber Viewers (PDF/EasyEDA/Altium)
Professional Objectives
As a Hardware Test & Validation Engineer, you will serve as the critical link between initial R&D prototypes and the final production-ready device. Your primary focus is to ensure the hardware's integrity through rigorous component validation and functional testing. We are looking for an engineer who approaches hardware with a methodical mindset—someone who can bridge the gap between complex circuitry and stable, high-volume manufacturing.
Core Responsibilities
Validation & Bench Testing:
Lead the component-level validation and full-system hardware checks. Utilize oscilloscopes and multimeters to analyze voltage graphs and verify signal integrity at critical checkpoints.
Troubleshooting & Debugging:
Isolate hardware bugs and identify root causes. You will collaborate closely with the HW/FW development teams to resolve issues within project timelines.
SOP & Documentation:
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the production to follow. You will be responsible for maintaining precise test logs and validation reports.
Rework & Prototyping:
Perform precision
soldering
for board modifications, component swaps, or adding test points during the R&D phase.
Process Optimization:
Proactively suggest and implement ways to automate repetitive testing tasks to increase our validation efficiency.
Technical Knowledge & Circuitry
We expect a functional understanding of the following circuit blocks and interfaces:
Power & Control:
DC-DC power supplies, battery chargers, level shifters, Op-Amps, Comparators, MOSFETs, and Transistors.
Modules:
Integration of MCUs, GSM, and GNSS modules.
Interboard Communication:
Essential knowledge of
UART, I2C, and SPI
protocols.
Industrial Interfaces:
Familiarity with CAN, RS-485, RS-232, and K-Line is highly valued.
Schematic Literacy:
Proficiency in navigating schematics via PDF or design tools like EasyEDA, Altium, or KiCad.
Candidate Profile
Experience:
1 to 3 years
of hands-on experience in hardware testing, validation, or R&D environments.
Educational Background:
Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field.
Technical Mindset:
A system-level thinker with a deep curiosity for how firmware interacts with hardware circuitry.
Analytical Resilience:
Disciplined enough to maintain absolute precision during repetitive R&D testing cycles and high-pressure timelines.
Strategic Partner:
A collaborative problem-solver who contributes smart ideas to automate and improve the internal testing flow.
