Job Summary
The
Guitar Facilitator
is responsible for teaching guitar to students across different grade levels, fostering musical skills, creativity, and performance confidence. The facilitator will plan engaging lessons, train students in music theory and practical performance, and support school music events and performances.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Teach
guitar (acoustic and/or electric)
to students of different age groups.
Develop structured lesson plans based on students' skill levels (beginner to advanced).
Teach basic to advanced guitar techniques, including chords, strumming, scales, and fingerstyle.
Introduce students to
basic music theory
, rhythm, and notation reading.
Encourage creativity, musical expression, and stage confidence.
Student Development
Prepare students for school performances, competitions, and cultural events.
Train students for group performances such as school bands or ensembles.
Provide individual feedback to help students improve technique and performance skills.
Encourage regular practice and skill development.
Curriculum & Planning
Design age-appropriate guitar learning modules.
Select suitable songs and exercises based on students' proficiency levels.
Maintain records of student progress and achievements.
Collaborate with the music department for concerts and events.
Performance & Event Support
Support school assemblies, annual day, and cultural programs.
Assist in organizing music-related events and performances.
Accompany students during rehearsals and stage performances.
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain guitars and related musical equipment.
Participate in staff meetings and school activities.
Stay updated with modern teaching methods and musical trends.
Ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in
Music / Performing Arts
(Preferred).
Certification in
Guitar or Music
from a recognized institution (Preferred).
Minimum
1–3 years of experience
teaching guitar in schools, academies, or music institutes.
Skills & Competencies
Strong proficiency in
acoustic and/or electric guitar
.
Knowledge of
music theory
and performance techniques.
Ability to teach students of varying skill levels.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to train students for performances and competitions.
Creativity and passion for music education.
Preferred Experience
Experience conducting
school band training
.
Ability to teach
multiple music styles
(Western, classical, contemporary, etc.).
Experience preparing students for
concerts and stage performances
.
