Role Description
The Investment Services Product organization is recruiting for an experienced individual to serve as a
Vice President, Product Development Lead
within the
Fund Accounting and Administration (FAA)
product organization.
Reporting to
Managing Director, Fund Accounting and Administration (FAA)
, this role partners closely with FAA Product Leads, Operations, and Technology teams to
translate strategic priorities into clearly defined product initiatives and deliver measurable outcomes aligned to the FAA roadmap
.
The Vice President is accountable for the
successful execution of assigned initiatives
, ensuring clarity of scope, disciplined delivery, and alignment with broader product and business objectives. The role contributes directly to the ongoing evolution of State Street’s global fund accounting and fund administration capabilities through strong analytical judgment, hands‑on execution leadership, and effective stakeholder engagement.
The role operates in a global context, supporting product development and delivery across multiple platforms, asset classes, and jurisdictions, and requires close collaboration across time zones.
Function
The Vice President supports Fund Services Product Development leadership by
driving execution across defined FAA initiatives and capability enhancements
. Working in close partnership with business, operations, and technology stakeholders, the role ensures that product requirements are clearly articulated, delivery plans are practical, and outcomes meet client, operational, and regulatory expectations.
This position serves as a
senior individual contributor and workstream lead
, owning delivery for specific initiatives or components of larger programs under the direction of senior product leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Own delivery of
assigned product initiatives or workstreams
within Fund Accounting and Administration
Partner with Product, Operations, and Technology teams to
define requirements, success criteria, and delivery plans
Drive day‑to‑day execution, ensuring initiatives progress
on time, within scope, and with appropriate risk management
Contribute to analysis of product‑related change, including
client impact, operational implications, and commercial considerations
Support development and maintenance of
product roadmaps, epics, and backlogs
aligned to strategic priorities
Apply professional judgment to
identify dependencies, tradeoffs, and delivery risks
, escalating issues as appropriate
Contribute to discussions on
FAA operating models and technology architecture
, with a focus on simplification, standardization, and scalability
Support evaluation of
build versus buy
decisions and opportunities to rationalize existing technology platforms
Partner with stakeholders across service disciplines to
enable consistency and integration of product capabilities
Provide
guidance and direction to delivery teams/product resources
to support effective execution and capability development
Maintain awareness of
regulatory requirements and local market considerations
impacting assigned initiatives
Skills
Strong knowledge of
fund accounting
, including accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP), NAV construction, general ledger processing, and complex asset classes (e.g., derivatives, loans)
Working knowledge of
fund administration functions
downstream from accounting records, including financial and regulatory reporting, tax administration, and investment compliance
Proven ability to
manage complex deliverables across multiple initiatives
and competing priorities
Ability to apply
business, operational, and system knowledge
to inform product and delivery decisions
Strong communication skills, with the ability to
articulate recommendations and influence stakeholders
at multiple levels
Experience contributing to high‑quality
product, requirements, and solution documentation
Solid understanding of
Agile delivery practices
, including collaboration with Product Owners, story definition, and backlog management
Ability to operate effectively in
global, matrixed environments
Strong analytical skills and sound professional judgment
Exposure to adoption of
AI within the Product Development Lifecycle
is preferred
Experience
10–15 years’ experience in
Securities Services or related financial services
businesses
Prior experience in
fund accounting and/or fund administration
environments
Experience supporting
platform enhancements, product change, or transformation initiatives
Prior experience in a
product, business analysis, or technology delivery role
Experience working within
global organizations
and multi‑stakeholder delivery models
