Job Summary
Lumel is looking for a detail-oriented Functional Test Engineer with 2 to less than 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manual testing, a solid understanding of QA processes, and preferably prior exposure to Power BI or Microsoft Fabric for data validation and analytics testing.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
Design and execute detailed test cases for web and data-driven applications.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Validate data accuracy, reports, and dashboards (including Power BI where applicable).
Identify, log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams for quality assurance.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.
Ensure comprehensive test coverage and maintain test documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in software testing with a focus on functional/manual testing.
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies.
Hands-on experience in test case design, execution, and defect management.
Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA / Bugzilla or similar).
Good knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.
Experience in web application testing.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience or working knowledge of Power BI (dashboard validation, report testing).
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or similar data/analytics platforms is a strong plus.
Experience in BI/Data Analytics testing.
Basic understanding of API testing (Postman or similar tools).
Exposure to automation testing is an added advantage.
