The successful candidate will work with multiple teams across Liberis and have the chance to make a big impact.&nbsp;</p> <h3>The role</h3> <p>The Financial Crime Associate plays a key role in protecting the business from financial crime risks, including money laundering, fraud, and sanctions breaches. The role’s primary purpose is to review and assess alerts, conduct customer due diligence, and support investigations to ensure suspicious activity is identified, evaluated, and escalated appropriately.</p> <p>This role contributes to the team’s success by maintaining high-quality case handling, ensuring investigations are accurate and timely, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements. By working closely with internal teams and following established frameworks, the associate helps ensure a consistent and effective approach to risk management.</p> <p>More broadly, the role supports the company’s overall objectives by safeguarding its financial systems, maintaining regulatory compliance, and protecting its reputation. Through strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive engagement, the Financial Crime Associate helps enable sustainable growth in a secure and compliant environment.</p> <h3>What you’ll be doing</h3> <ul> <li>Conduct initial reviews of alerts generated from transaction monitoring systems</li> <li>Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and support enhanced due diligence (EDD) where required</li> <li>Assist with screening customers and transactions against sanctions, PEP, and adverse media lists</li> <li>Support the investigation of fraud cases, including analysing account activity, verifying customer information, and liaising with internal teams or external parties where required</li> <li>Escalate suspicious activity to senior analysts with clear and structured rationale</li> <li>Maintain accurate and complete case records in line with audit and regulatory expectations</li> <li>Assist with periodic reviews of existing customers to ensure ongoing compliance</li> <li>Follow internal policies, how to guides, and risk frameworks consistently</li> </ul> <h3>What we think you’ll need</h3> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of financial crime risks (AML, fraud, sanctions)</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to assess information critically and make risk-based decisions</li> <li>Good written and verbal communication skills, with ability to clearly articulate findings and rationales</li> <li>Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)</li> <li>Ability to investigate and interpret transactional and customer data to identify suspicious patterns</li> <li>High level of integrity and professionalism</li> <li>Willingness to learn and develop in financial crime compliance</li> <li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment</li> <li>Team player with a collaborative approach to working with different departments</li> <li>Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and identify areas for improvement</li> </ul> <p><em><br>Liberis is an equal opportunities employer.
