Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the civil department's store, including inventory control, stock replenishment, and organization of materials and supplies.
Procurement and Purchasing:
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure construction materials, equipment, and tools required for ongoing projects. Ensure timely delivery and maintain accurate records of purchases.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials to verify quality and compliance with specifications and standards. Reject or return defective items as necessary and communicate with suppliers regarding issues or discrepancies.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintain comprehensive records of inventory levels, stock movements, and procurement activities. Generate reports on stock availability, consumption trends, and inventory turnover for management review.
Coordination with Project Teams:
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to assess material requirements for upcoming projects and ensure timely availability of necessary resources.
Storage and Warehousing:
Implement efficient storage solutions to optimize space utilization and facilitate easy access to materials. Monitor environmental conditions to prevent damage or deterioration of stored items.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment within the store. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with established guidelines.
Team Supervision:
Provide leadership and guidance to store staff, including training, performance evaluation, and task assignment. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Proven experience in store management, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Prior experience in procurement and vendor management is advantageous.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the construction sector.
