Job Summary:
The Executive Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the engineering operations within our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. This role involves ensuring the optimal functioning of all plant equipment and systems, managing maintenance activities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Equipment Management:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment and systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment servicing and spare parts procurement.
Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement engineering solutions to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Management:
Manage engineering projects from concept through completion, including equipment installations, upgrades, and facility expansions.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all engineering activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering documentation, including equipment manuals, maintenance logs, and SOPs.
Safety and Risk Management:
Promote a culture of safety within the engineering team and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with production, quality control, and R&D departments to support manufacturing operations and new product development.
Provide technical expertise and support to resolve engineering-related issues in a timely manner.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of engineering technicians and junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in engineering within the pharmaceutical or related industry.
Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.
Proficiency in using engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, CMMS).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong project management abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP).
Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial equipment and processes.
Ability to lift and move equipment and materials as necessary.
Working Conditions:
Primarily a plant environment, with occasional office work.
Some travel may be required for training, conferences, or vendor meetings.
