About the Opportunity As the Executive - Plant Production and Procurement at Ugaoo, you will support the production and inventory management processes to align with the company’s sales channels, including D2C, Q-Comm, Marketplaces, Corporate Gifting, Retail, and Landscaping. This role involves assisting in planning, production, procurement, and operational processes to maintain Ugaoo’s standards for plant health and quality. You will contribute to ensuring cost efficiency, smooth operations, and consistent availability of quality plants across all channels. Responsibilities Production Planning and Inventory Management Support the execution of production plans for top-selling plants in line with sales forecasts across channels. Assist in managing plant production in line with polyhouse capacity to ensure efficient utilization of space. Track plant availability across Ugaoo hubs and highlight potential stock gaps, including coordination for landscaping requirements. Support plant procurement processes to ensure timely availability of required stock and materials within defined budgets. Plant Health, Care and Propagation Conduct regular inspections of plants to ensure health, quality, and adherence to standards. Follow and support implementation of plant care programs including watering, nutrition, pruning, and repotting. Monitor pest and disease conditions, implement basic control measures, and escalate issues when required. Analyse basic soil conditions and support necessary soil amendments under guidance. Ensure proper irrigation and drainage systems are functioning effectively across nursery operations. Support plant propagation activities including seeding, cutting, and grafting as per production plans. Maintain accurate records of propagation and plant movement activities. On-Ground Execution and Supervision Supervise on-ground labour for daily plant care and nursery operations. Ensure tasks are completed as per defined schedules and quality standards. Support onboarding and basic training of new team members on plant care practices and SOPs. Operational Excellence Support cost-effective practices across production, procurement, and labour activities. Track wastage, damages, expenses, and losses, and report deviations to the reporting manager. Coordinate with supply chain, retail, services, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth plant movement and availability. Ensure adherence to SOPs, brand guidelines, and operational processes. Maintain adequate inventory levels to support business demand. Provide basic horticultural inputs and support to internal teams when required and act as a point of contact for plant-related queries. Identify and highlight opportunities to improve efficiency in day-to-day operations. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field. 1 to 3 years of experience in plant nurseries, plant care, or related operations. Basic knowledge of plant health, pest control, soil management, and propagation techniques. Understanding of inventory tracking and operational processes. Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. Good communication and coordination skills.
