A System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure. They ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the IT environment while providing technical support to end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
System Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to optimize performance.
Perform regular software and hardware updates, patches, and maintenance tasks.
Network Management:
Configure and maintain network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
Implement security measures to protect the network from threats.
User Support:
Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
Train employees on the proper use of hardware and software.
Data Backup and Recovery:
Implement data backup strategies and ensure data integrity.
Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
Recover data in the event of system failures or data loss.
Security:
Monitor system security and implement security policies and procedures.

Documentation:

Qualifications:

Certification in system administration (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator).
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and virtualization technologies.
Experience required 2-3 years
