Position Summary
Engineer – Production is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring production operations to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets in an automobile manufacturing setup. This role involves leading a team, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, optimizing production processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
-Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and production capacity.
-Ensure smooth execution of production plans while maintaining optimal resource utilization.
-Coordinate with supply chain, quality, and maintenance teams to prevent delays.
2. Process & Productivity Improvement
-Implement lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and other productivity improvement initiatives.
-Analyse production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
-Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and take measures to improve it.
3. Quality Assurance
-Ensure products to meet quality standards as per OEM requirements.
-Coordinate with the Quality team to address defects and reduce rejection rates.
-Implement mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions in the assembly/manufacturing process.
4. Team Leadership & Training
-Lead and mentor production operators.
-Conduct skill-gap analysis and arrange training programs.
-Ensure discipline and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
5. Safety & Compliance
-Ensure workplace safety by enforcing safety protocols and PPE usage.
-Comply with IATF 16949, and other relevant standards.
-Participate in audits and ensure statutory compliance.
6. Reporting & Documentation
-Maintain daily production reports and Analyse deviations from plan.
-Report KPIs such as productivity, downtime, scrap rates, and delivery performance.
-Support management in preparing weekly and monthly performance reviews.
7. Technical Skills:
-Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and equipment.
-Proficiency in lean manufacturing, TPM, and 5S.
-Exposure to SAP systems.

B. Tech Mechanical/Diploma in mechanical engineering.
Experience required- 5-6 Yrs.
